FAQ
My application has been complete for a while now, and I haven’t heard anything. Does that mean I won’t get an interview?
No. We hold all complete applications under active consideration for an interview until the end of February, and we interview until the end of March. It is not uncommon for an applicant whose application became complete in the fall to be invited for an interview in the winter or spring.
I’m an international student. What are my chances at TUSM?
We do admit international students, but relatively few. We give strong preference to United States citizens and U.S. permanent residents. (A permanent resident visa, or green card, is equivalent to U.S. citizenship in our admissions process and in terms of U.S. student loan programs).
What address do I mail to?

I’m going to be in the Boston area soon. Will Tufts review my file right away, so if I get an interview at Tufts I can schedule it during my upcoming trip?
We review applications (and select applicants for interview) in the order in which the applications become complete. Our interview season extends from September until March, and an invitation to interview with us is good from the time it is issued until the end of our interview season. We extend open-ended invitations to help applicants consolidate a visit to Tufts with visits to other schools in our area. Unfortunately, we cannot extend an applicant any special or priority treatment due to travel plans.
I’m going to be out of the country during the application year. Will this be a problem?
The most likely problem to arise is your availability to interview with us, should you be selected for an interview. Because we review applications (and select applicants for interview) in the order in which the applications become complete, it’s in your best interest to apply early. Our interview season extends from September until March, and an invitation to interview with us is good from the time it is issued until the end of our interview season. If your application is complete early in the cycle, and you are selected for an interview when much of our interview calendar is still open, you will have the best chance of selecting a data that fits your travel schedule. Unfortunately, we cannot provide applicants any special or priority treatment due to existing travel plans.
