Posner Hall Dormitory

Location and Information

The Posner Hall Dormitory was built in 1954 with renovations occurring regularly, resulting in a well maintained facility. It houses our Medical, Dental, Sackler, and PHPD graduate students in a 97-room building located at 200 Harrison Avenue, Boston. The dormitory is across from the Sackler Center for Medical Education, where most classes are held, and Tufts Medical Center.

The Medical School retains 38 rooms on the first and second floors. The rooms are single occupancy measuring 11 X 13.5 feet with one window and two closets. All rooms are furnished with a newly installed air conditioner, twin bed, dresser, desk and chair with a bookshelf. Floors have been recently updated in the common kitchens and bathrooms [men & women]. Rooms are equipped with telephone and TV jacks and the resident must contact the service companies to activate. Additionally, there is a common lounge with a study area on the second floor and an exercise room and a laundry room in the basement. Our Physical Plant staff maintains the dormitory on a daily basis.

Move-In Dates

The move-in dates are Saturday, August 10th and Sunday, August 11th, 2013. Because there are programs housed in Posner Hall during the summer, no exceptions can be made for either MD or Combined Degree students arriving early or leaving their belongings in assigned rooms prior to the above move-in dates. Please make your travel arrangements accordingly. Additionally, students CANNOT retain residency the following summer even if plans are made to stay in Boston for employment/research opportunities.

Cost

The cost for the 2013-2014 academic year is $8,565.48. A student must submit a deposit of $315.00 and a signed contract to be considered for a room. The $300.00 is credited to your dormitory account is non-refundable and the $15.00 key deposit will be returned when you vacate the room and return all keys. Based on the demand for Posner Hall Dormitory, all rooms are granted on a first come, first-serve basis. You will be notified early July if you have a room or have been placed on a waiting list.
